# Twitch (Virtual event)

## Set up the live stream

To set up a live stream on a desktop, first, an account needs to be created on [Twitch](https://www.twitch.tv/). Click on 'Sign Up' in the top-right corner and create an account.&#x20;

Before the live stream can be started encoding software needs to be set up. We recommend downloading [Open Broadcaster Software](https://obsproject.com/). Useful information on how to use OBS can be found [here](https://obsproject.com/wiki/OBS-Studio-Quickstart). Useful information on how to use OBS in combination with Twitch can be found [here](https://www.windowscentral.com/beginners-guide-obs).

1. Login on Twitch.
2. In the top-right corner click on the avatar and select 'Creator Dashboard' from the drop-down menu.
3. In the creator dashboard on the left side click on 'Preferences' and select 'Channel'.&#x20;
4. Copy the 'Primary Stream key'.
5. Inset the 'Primary Stream key' into the encoder and start streaming. ## Insert the live stream in the Let's Get Digital environment

Head over to the [admin panel](https://knowledge-base.letsgetdigital.com/lets-get-started/getting-started/virtual-platform/start-up-process/the-admin-panel) to link the Twitch live stream to a programme item.

Click on 'Content' and select 'Programme' from the drop-down menu.
