Physical networking made virtual
Users can enter the programme item of the network carousel through the programme overview of the virtual event platform. When entered, users will be randomly (or based on their interests) matched during a given time frame. Furthermore, you can decide whether you'd like to cross match between exhibitors or attendees. These settings will ensure that people will create valuable connections during your event!
Head over to the Admin Panel to create a new programme item for the Network Carousel.
Click on 'Content' and select 'Programme' from the drop-down menu.
Create a new session.
Insert information about the programme item and select 'Network Carousel' as the 'Virtual event type'.
Scroll down and click on 'Save changes'.
When the privacy settings of a user are set to hidden, this user cannot attend the network carousel.
In the admin panel click on 'Settings' and select 'Virtual event settings'.
Click on 'Networking bubble'. Scroll down.
In the 'Number of seconds for each round in the carrousel' tab select the preferred length in seconds.
Scroll down and click on 'Save changes'.
Please note: the start and end time of the network carousel program item should be considered when filling in the seconds per round. Ideally, you want the carousel rounds to fit within the program item length, e.g. a carousel length of 180 seconds can suit a 9 minutes long program item. If the program item is set to last 10 minutes, users will experience one minute of no activity.
In the admin panel hover over 'Settings' and select 'Virtual event settings'.
Click on 'Networking bubble'. Scroll down and select whether people from the same company should be matched by ticking the 'Enable users from the same company to match with each other' box.
In the admin panel click on 'Virtual Event' and select 'Settings'.
In the menu on the left side select 'Networking bubble'.
Either enable or disable the setting 'Disable cross-matching between exhibitors or attendees'. As the settings states, when enabled exhibitors will only be matched with attendees.
Furthermore, enable or disable whether users can be matched or not with a person once during the whole event in the network carrousel. This option is disabled by default.
Please note: every network carousel program item is independent of each other, meaning multiple network carousels will not remember users that have already connected in prior network carousels.
Scroll down and click on 'Save changes'.
The Matchmaking module has to be enabled in order to use tags during a Network Carousel.
The advanced matchmaking module is based on Matchmaking, which will have to be set up beforehand.
In the admin panel click on 'Settings' and select 'Virtual event settings'.
Click on 'Networking bubble'. Scroll down and tick the box for ''Enable advanced networking carousel''.
Scroll down and click on 'Save changes'.
Click on 'Content' and select 'Programme' from the drop-down menu.
Create a new session.
Insert information about the programme item and select 'Network Carousel advanced' as the 'Virtual event type'. Setup the 'match system'.
In the admin panel click on 'Settings' and select 'Virtual event settings'.
Click on 'Networking bubble'. Scroll down and tick the box for ''Enable advanced networking carousel''.
