User tags (VP)

Tags have many different uses within the Let's Get Digital platform. The following article explains how tags can be created and used.

What is a User tag?

It is possible to create multiple custom user tags within the Admin panel that can be assigned to a user. User tags are useful in many different ways and examples of which are listed below:
  • Send communication to specific groups of users.
  • Filtering of users in the platform
  • Permission to access specfic sessions
  • Provide users access to specific event days
  • Access to menu items based on tags
  • Event Language based on tags
If a user is connected as a speaker for a session or to a company booth they will automatically recieve the tag 'Speaker and/or 'Exhibitor'

Creating a User tag

User tags can be created manually via the Admin panal or when completing an import of users. You can manually create a user tag using the following steps:
  1. 1.
    Open the Admin panel
  2. 2.
    Go to Users --> All user
  3. 3.
    Click on the button 'User tags'
    (You will see an overview of any exsisting tags in the system. You can edit and delete tags here)
  4. 4.
    Click

    Fill in the information (use the table below for reference)

    When finished click
    to save the tag
Name
Description
Name*
The name of the tag and how it will be listed in the platform
Tag Colour
The colour of the tag.
Part of
Makes the tag a sub-tag of another
Order (lower numbers appear higher in the list)
The order the tag will be listed in the overview.
If setting is enabled

Start date
The 'Start date' that users with the tag can enter the Virtual event
End date
The 'End date' that users with the tag can enter the Virtual event.

Platform Access (based on user tag)

It is possible to provide users access specific days of the Virtual event based on their tags. This function can be setup using the following steps:
  1. 1.
    Open the Admin panel
  2. 2.
    Go to Settings --> Virtual event settings --> General
  3. 3.
    Check the box 'Enable access per event day (based on user tag)'
  4. 4.
    Now create a 'New Tag' or edit an Exsisting Tag
  5. 5.
    Enter the 'Start date' that users with the tag can enter the Virtual event.
  6. 6.
    Enter the 'End date' that users with the tag can enter the Virtual event.
  7. 7.
    Click 'Add tag' or 'Save changes'
If a User is given a tag without a 'Start date' and 'End date' they will have access to all event days in the platform.
